Who we are right for

Regulated firms that have decided AI matters.

We are deliberately narrow about the problem we solve and deliberately open about who brings it to us. What follows is the honest version of both.

In short

EPX Intelligence works with UK regulated and professional services firms, most often law firms, financial services firms and accountancy practices. Clients are typically between 100 and 250 people, but that describes who tends to find us rather than who we accept. What actually decides fit is whether somebody outside your firm has asked you to prove AI is governed.

By sector

The regulator changes the conversation entirely.

Two firms of the same size in different sectors are asked to evidence completely different things. So we write for the regulator rather than for the size band.

SRA

Law firms

Confidentiality duties, plus live SRA guidance on AI that is already forcing firms to write policy rather than consider it.

Law firms and the SRA
FCA and PRA

Financial services

Security governance expected under SYSC 13.7 and an operational resilience regime that has to be evidenced.

Financial services
ICAEW

Accountancy

Audit registration and practice assurance, and client data that makes an ungoverned AI rollout a confidentiality problem quickly.

Accountancy

Fit, honestly

What actually decides whether we are right for each other.

Not headcount. If any two of the first three are true, the size of your firm is beside the point.

Signal 01

Somebody outside has asked you to prove it

A tender, a client questionnaire, an insurer, a regulator or your own board. The strongest signal, because the deadline is not yours to set.

Signal 02

You want the upside, governed

You see AI as an opportunity to be handled properly rather than a risk to be shut down. Firms in the second camp are better served by a written policy on its own.

Signal 03

You will fund a piece of work

A defined piece of work with a beginning and an end. That is usually the difference between AI arriving and AI being discussed.

And where we are not the answer

We would rather lose a fortnight of pipeline than a year of everyone's time.

If you want AI stopped rather than governed, a written policy from a compliance consultancy is cheaper and quicker than us.

If your existing management system is neglected, the honest first step is repairing that rather than layering AI governance on something that will not survive its next audit. We will say so.

If you are a smaller firm wanting the pared down version, EPX IT sells an AI Foundations engagement directly and we will point you at it.

If you need a managed IT provider, that is EPX IT rather than us, and it is a separate conversation with separate people.

Size and location

Two questions we get asked before anyone will book a call.

Both usually asked nervously, and both with a shorter answer than people expect.

Are we too small?

Most firms asking whether they are too small for EPX Intelligence are not. Most clients sit between roughly 100 and 250 people, because that is where board pressure meets a shortage of internal capacity. It describes our usual client, and it is not an entry requirement. A 70 person firm with a tender deadline and an appetite to move is a better fit than a 240 person firm with a vague interest, and we would rather have the conversation than have you rule yourself out.

Where in the UK do you work?

EPX Intelligence is based in Stafford and works with firms across the whole of the UK. Every pillar is delivered on the same basis wherever you are.

The next step is a conversation

Tell us what has been asked of you.

Thirty minutes, no proposal attached. If we are not right for it we will say so on the call, and point you at who is.
